Please use this form to submit a non-emergency community concern to the Newington Forest Community Association office. This form follows the Association's Resolution related to the submission and resolution of complaints (PR14). As stated in PR14, the Association will provide written notice acknowledging receipt of the complaint within seven (7) days of receipt of this form. Incomplete complaints will be deemed closed if requested information is not provided to the Association within fourteen (14) days following the Association's request.
The Association will follow up on concerns within the jurisdiction of the Community's Governing Documents. Matters outside the Association's jurisdiction should be reported to the proper authority. The Fairfax County Department of Code Compliance should be contacted regarding tall grass, commercial vehicles, noise, or pets & animals. Complaints involving personal safety or destruction of personal property should be reported to Fairfax County Police.
Frequently Reported Concerns:
Common Area Concerns: The Association maintains the common areas of the community. This includes the tot lots, portions of the trails, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, the open field on Southrun Rd, the community center, the pool, and areas surrounding townhomes. If you see something that needs attention, please complete the form below. Photos and locations are important. Trees of concern should be marked with something non-permanent (a string or tape).
Covenant Complaints: The Association conducts annual inspections of the exterior of properties in the community. Most property maintenance issues are cited at that time, and response times vary based on the Association rules and resident plans of action. If you see a property maintenance issue, please complete the form below for follow-up.
Noise Complaints: As noted above, noise complaints are primarily enforced by the Fairfax County Department of Code Compliance and the Fairfax County Police. We encourage residents to speak with neighbors when experiencing issues as a first response to resolving matters in a considerate manner. To learn more about the types of noise (construction, animals, loudspeakers, etc) and enforcement, visit the Department of Code Compliance Noise Ordinance website.
Parking Complaints: Open (unmarked) parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum occupancy time limit of 7 consecutive 24-hour periods. Residents witnessing a violation of this policy should complete the form below for enforcement by the Association. Please read the Parking Resolution for parking information and enforcement in the community.
Pet Complaints: Residents should make at least one attempt to resolve the problem with the pet owner before notifying the Association. Please read the Pet Resolution for specific documentation needed to submit a pet complaint for follow-up by the Association. If you have an immediate concern for you or the safety of your own pet, please contact: Animal Control at 703-691-2131.
Trash Complaints: Section 6.05 of the Governing Documents states that no trash shall be kept, stored, or allowed to accumulate on any lot. Trash and recycle containers may be set out after dark, the day before pick up, and at all other times be visually screened from all streets and adjacent lots. If you see a resident in violation of this rule, please complete the form below and include a photo documenting the complaint.
